Great camera easy to use and great results.

I wanted a digital camera so I could take pix for my eBay auction lots. It was a great buy and the price was very good. Since then I have used the camera for taking family pictures while we have been on days out and have been extremely pleased with the result. I would recommend one of these from eBay as the price for them is great and the results are even better.Read full review...

FUJIFILM Finepix 6900

I bought this camera because I already have one that quit functioning and already have alot of attachments for it. The price on this one was less than having the other one fixed. The 6900 is a very good camera and I like the way it works.Read full review...

Well worth buying

I bought one of these cameras three years ago as a bit of easy to carry around number. Ive been a professional photographer for ten years and I speak very honestly about the equipment I use.

The first thing that may put potential buyers off is the 3.0 million pixels. Dont worry this handy little number uses interpolation to increase the overall pixel size to 6.0 Million.

Looks wise it may come across as a little dated compared to more recent models but again don't let that put you off. It has a large LCD screen simple modes to use and the picture quality is fantastic. The beauty of this camera is that even in auto its ability to pick out detail is outstanding. For example if you enjoy landscape photography the camera can easily pickup detail in the sky without leaving ur photo washed out and in all honesty delivers the most true to life pictures with minium effort.

For someone looking to upgrade from a simple compact or develop their photography skills it is the perfect choice. Yes it does have its issues particularly in sports mode but in my opinion it rivals if not beats many similar more up to date fuji's by along way.

Fuji FinePix 6900 Digital Camera

This is my first digital camera, and I wanted something with more scope for developing my photography skills than the typical point and shoot type, but without costing a fortune. Although this model is now technically obsolete, it was the top of Fuji's range of consumer cameras when released (2001 I believe). It offers the option of operating in fully automatic, several semi automatic and manual modes, giving the user as much control as they require to suit their technical skill level. The image quality, and especially the colour rendition, is very good and in my opinion rivals much of the current digital cameras costing far more. The downside is the battery life is pretty terrible by modern standards (30 mins or so), and the smartmedia memory cards are now obsolete and only available in relatively small sizes - 128mB being the largest, which gives only 7 uncompressed pics (17,720kB)at 6m, a more reasonable 53 at 'fine' (2400kB)and 102 at 3m (1300kB)- which still yields very good images for most applications. For my needs(indoor shots, with a spare battery on hand - an adaptor would have been nice - and regular uploading to computer)this camera is fine, but it may not suit other applications.Read full review...

Fuji FinePix 6900 Zoom Digital Camera

I've had this camera for about 3 years now and first of all I have to say the photo quality is great. The controls are easy to use and menu system simple. You can pick these baby's up for a great price and is a good upgrade for someone looking to venture away from the compact cameras that are so popular these days.
Make sure you get a good quality memory card as is can take a few seconds to transfer an image at the highest setting. 3-4 sec startup time and a limited battery life will have you reaching for a spare battery on a regular basis so get yourself a spare + a charger asap. Shutter lag is also a problem with this model so don't bother taking it to any sporting events 8)
You can pick up a lens adapter very cheaply and allows you to put any filter on your camera for a bit of experimentation.

Good Camera

I always used fuji Cameras and i like them because they easy to use and take good photos, i decided to try SLR Camera and that's why i went for this one. What i didn't know about this Camera is that i can take Black and White photos with it and that is so nice. Also i got the manuals with it and that is important thing becuase it have many settings and you need the manual to enjoy using it. It have internal flash and you can connect external flash if you thinking about taking a lot of photos at night because using the internal flash will eat the battery, so i bought external flash from Ebay for it and it worked perfect. Also i bought extra battery and battery charger that works at home and in the car. The other day i was trying the muli fram settings where you can take a number of photos one after another, it's something you use if you taking photos of a moving subject and it was setup to take 5 frams and that is good, but the surprise is that you can change this number so you can have more or less.
I think This camera is a good photography teacher because if you read it's manual then try take photos with it, you will find yourself interested to take more photos and you have more experience about photography then ever before. There are many settings on this camera and if you don't have time to read the manual then put it on Auto and it will do the job for you. On the rating score i put it good and not Excellent not because it's not Excellent but because i am sure that Fuji have other models that is more powerfull and stronger than this Camera, But everything have a price.

Great Camera

I brought this camera as my first move towards SLR, I have rarely been disappointed by it's performance yet, its a great little camera and it's improved my results unbelievably. For the price range it's the best thing for beginners and for professionals wanting a back up or light 'work horse' point and click.

The only things that let this camera down are the shutter delay, which has me looking at picking up a better 'true' SLR when I want to make some headway with wildlife and sports photography.

The battery life, I have three batteries and I'm looking at picking up some more as i can go through all three in one heavy session, luckily they aren't expensive, budget £7 to £10 per battery and add another £15 to £19 for a separate charger so you can use the camera while they're charging (otherwise you have to plug the camera in for the battery to charge which takes up to two hours).

The media cards, Smart media is an outdated type of storage card and as such doesn't hold much, highest resolution on the largest card available (128mb, not epic) can mean only 5 of 6 shots before you run out of space, however normal 6m is good enough for most and that gives 113 shot to a card. Unfortunately Smart Media cards are incredibly expensive £30+ for 128MB isn't uncommon and i've been buying broken cameras for £10 to £20 because they've come with 128 cards.

Still, I wouldn't stop using it if I got a new SLR, and for the price I paid I'm more than happy.

FinePix 6900 Zoom

This is the camera you really need for all types of photography be it holiday snaps or proffesional it just does the lot without any fuss my only concern is the lack of large capacity smartmedia cards and the lack of XD card adapters that allow the door to shut apart from this very small snag this is the camera you will want to keep on your person all the time for those impulse pics its simply a brilliant peice of kit yes it is a tad expensive but if you know the camera then you will know its worth double the price so if you see one BUY IT they are becoming very scarce now and buy some 128mb smartmedia cards they are neededRead full review...
