Excellent lens, especially for macros

Image quality and build quality are superb.

Technically, it provides a .5X magnification on the sensor, but since the Fuji X-series cameras are APS-C, and have a 1.5X crop factor, the effective macro magnification is .75X.

Other macro lenses I've used achieve their maximum magnification at wide angle (about 18mm). This means that you have to be within an inch of the subject. The combination of the 90mm equivalent focal length and .75X macro power lets you get close-ups of wildlife (like insects and hummingbirds) from 7.5" away, without scaring them off, or casting a shadow on the subject.

Because of the long focus range, focusing is a little on the slow side in low light. But with decent contrast, and decent light, it's pretty quick. The filter size is a surprisingly small 39mm.

Perfect size for the Fuji X series

This is how a lens should be for the mirrorless systems. Small, lightweight, classy feel. Image quality if very good. No complaints there.

The only thing keeping me from giving this a 5 star rating is its dismal autofocusing ability. That is the Achilles heel for this lens. The key to getting a little bit more autofocus speed with this lens is to turn the camera's macro mode on when focusing at close distances and to remember to turn the macro mode off when focusing at normal distances.

I think it is a good value for 300USD or less. The pathetic autofocusing prevents it from having a higher value.

The lens works great. It takes very sharp pictures and matches up very well to my Fujifilm X-T3.... The lens is very small and is easy to carry around in my camera bag... I recommend this lens for portraits...... Great deal.....Read full review...

Slow t-stop glass; slow AF; 3 1/2 stars

While I like the ergonomics and construction of the X 60mm 2.4 macro lens, it uses slow t-stop glass which means lower light transmission, even wide open, and therefore higher ISO shooting, which can impair image sharpness. The AF also is noisy and somewhat slow as well. Overall 3 1/2 stars. There are better options for Fuji users, in particular the x 80mm 2.8.Read full review...

Great lens

Many reviews say it is slow focusing.
I downloaded the most recent driver for this lens and the focus speed is very fast and crisp and accurate.
Does not have image stabilization thus only 4 star.Read full review...

Great lens, super sharp

Wonderful lens that is tack sharp. Keep hoping to be able to afford the 56mm one day, but this is so close its almost makes you ask why spend the extra money. Only thing missing is true 1 to 1 macro, only does 1 - 2, but for most things it is more than adequateRead full review...

Great price/perfomance lens!

This lens is great as all others in XF line. Auto focus has improved with latest FW but still gets lost in poor-light conditions. As portrait lens, this is a true winner. It just can't get much better than this considering price level.

I use this lens also as macro lens with Raynox M-250. Perfect for flowers and small creatures.

Now I need to wait for prices drop of new Fujinon primes(56, 23, 14 and 10-24) but until then, I'm very happy with this one.

A real sleeper

One of the original X-mount lenses, the XF 60mm doesn't get the regard it deserves. It seems to take a back seat to the 56mm f/1.2 and newer 50mm f/2. Light weight, well built, and well balanced on the Fuji X-T1, the XF 60 yields stunning imagery. Although the AF isn't blazing fast. it is adequate for my needs as a landscape and stills photographer. This lens is an especially good value if one can find a mint condition copy used, as in my case.Read full review...

Awesome Portrait Lens

Awesome lens, beautiful for portrait and street photography. Ok for macro, wouldn't recommend for photographers who shoot primarily macro. Doesn't leave my camera.

Solid lens

The lens seems nice and sharp. I haven't done any copy shot tests to check closely but should be good for tabletop images. It would make a good portrait lens in a pinch too. Sometimes it is a little slow on the auto focus so I just manually focus in certain situations.Read full review...
