This movie starts out in basic training for Marines and then goes to depict war. This movie is fiction, it is based in reality of the Marines and the brain washing that has to take place to create a fighting force that are killing machines in battle. I have been told by military members that this is depicted as true... but is a fictionalized story.

It is a hard movie to watch as it has a suicide scene in it as well as hard war scenes. I do recommend anyone who would like to know what it is like to join and go induction and the battle... for men or women, friends and family.Read full review

Doesn’t stand the test of time

If you’re a Stanley Kubrick fan then you’ll most likely enjoy it. For me there were too many liberties taken and not enough story.
