Has no sensor don’t buy it if ur refrigerator requires sensor

My Ge refrigerator is new according to manufacturers we should use RPWFE filter. The new filter has sensor and refrigerator only works with filter with sensor the E at the ends indicates filter should have sensor but this one doesn’t therefore isn’t working if ur refrigerator filter requires filter with sensor just don’t buy this. Water filter

As can be seen in the photos, the filter I received is RPWFE which is what I ordered. HOWEVER, when I installed it in to my french door GE refrigerator, it did not work. I received the message to replace the water filter (which I had just done). I took it out, looked it over and discovered that the chip required was missing from the filter (as can be seen in the second photo). The water dispenser will not work without the chip. The filter doesn’t work.

My husband installed this filter in our fridge & the water & ice maker stopped working. We had an appliance repair person come to the house today to check out the fridge. He said that the RFID card on it was either improperly placed on the unit or is defective, as the fridge can’t read it, which makes the water & ice maker inoperable. Read full review
