Good for lubricating locks

Bought after seeing recommendation from a locksmith online. After about one year the upside-down Yale type lock in my new front door was giving trouble - difficult to get the key in, and more worryingly, even more difficult trying to get it back out again(suspect the last few months of driving rain had got at it). One short spray into lock and a little on the key and SORTED, problem solved. Hope I can find uses for the remaining 398ml left in the canRead full review

GT85 - A Liquid Tool In a Can!

I purchased GT85 after my wife returned home from a drive in our Ford Fiesta Edge automatic and was unable to remove the ignition key. In a pinch, I sprayed the ignition barrel (with the key still inserted) using WD-40. Not ideal, but it was all I had at the time. Thankfully, after driving the car again and parking it on level ground, combined with some gentle tugging, the key was released.

Curious to find a better solution, I did some research via Copilot and YouTube and discovered GT85. Once it arrived, I sprayed it into the ignition barrels of both the Ford Fiesta and our SEAT Leon SE DSG. I also treated the ignition keys and their spares.

Beyond the cars, I’ve used GT85 on exterior shed hinges, gate latches, and padlocks. One particularly impressive result came from a stubborn screw in a sink basin tap. I needed to replace the washer, but the retaining screw wouldn’t budge—even with my Black & Decker electric drill at full power. After removing the tap’s top cap, I sprayed GT85 liberally over the screw and let it soak for 15–20 minutes. Eventually, the screw came loose without issue.

I highly recommend GT85 as a versatile and effective spray lubricant. It’s essentially liquid oil in spray form and far superior to WD-40 when it comes to loosening tight metal parts, eliminating squeaks, and general lubrication. A true “go-to” product for any DIYer or car owner.

GT85 Brilliant Lubrication with PTFE

This product is brilliant to use in conjunction with WD40. WD40 will clean out light surface rust but does not really lubricate moving parts more of a rust inhibitor. Using GT85 after the WD40 penetrates and lubricates the moving parts. You can actually use GT85 on its own as a cleaner and lubricator and not bother with the WD40. I have found WD40 cleans up parts slightly quicker than the GT85. Then a quick squirt of GT85 finishes the job offRead full review

Great stuff!

Simply an alternative to WD40 which Ive always used in the past, it lubricates and protects. Great for locks, hinges and sliders on windows. Perfect for bikes and my RC models too.

A Must have..

A must have if you want to lubricate locks correctly.
Most other lubricants tend to be tacky and can cause the lock pins to stick, but not this, which is recommended by lock manufacturers.
A small amount goes a long way.. Read full review

Have used this product for years and use it for a wide variety of lubricating/rust prevention jobs. A tin lasts ages.
