Fitted straight into door mechanism no modifications required door mechanism stiffer to lock than original but that could be my reassembly of the door top and bottom locking mechanisms.

Revive a 40 year old doorlock
Replaced the original 40 year old gearbox without a problem, but lock guid pin just a bit proud of the case and caught on the doorframe when trying to lift the handle to operate locking bars. 2 minutes with a small file removed the 1mm needed and works very smoothly now. It's not a direct replacement. Found out that the bolt is thicker than the original and wouldn't go through the mounting plate until it had the hole opened up by filing. Other than that it's ok.
