Good entertaining film, although it follows similar lines to other films release of late. definately worth a night in front of the tele.

Gabriel (DVD)

Gabriel is a surprisingly solid film. From beginning to end it's a headsy, visually arresting thrill ride packed with solid performances, amazing effects, and great action. There are a few times when the pacing drags a bit and things get a little too wordy, but the lulls never last long.Gabriel stands head and shoulders above the usual direct-to-video fodder.Read full review...

Gabriel

This is a movie that was never advertised or given any big money advertising like you would get with a big Hollywood movie. I like this movie its one for the followers of cult films as Gabriel is sent to earth to rid it of the darkness, but the other angels have given in to the dark side as they feel there is no chance to bring light back to the world but Gabriel has other ideas.Read full review...

GABRIEL

I watched this film right after watching '30 Days of Night' and to be honest, Gabriel came across as the big budget film, but with an actual plot. I found it to be very entertaining, gripping and it surprised me with some very interesting takes of old established stories.

This is a very ambitious film considering the background of where it came from and the situation in which it was made. As mentioned on the DVD extra's, "you get the ones (films) with no money and heaps of time, or the ones with no time and heaps of money...this film was a combination of no money and no time"

This can be seen in a few places in the film, but that is the only bad thing I can say about this film.

It is clear to see that this has been a labour or love for all involved, both cast and crew and that shines through.

The plot is well written and the story has some very nice twists in it, set in a back drop that reminds the viewer of The Highlander, The Crow and Blade Runner this is a story of Good Vs Evil, of redemption and brotherhood.

The DVD also includes the normal extras such as a Behind-The-Scenes Featurette and Deleted Scenes.

This is well worth watching at least once.

Gabriel

I was really hoping that this would be a good action/thriller but was quite disappointed. After ten minutes, I switched it off to do something else as it didn't really come close in capturing my attention. There are points when you think that it may get better, the story seemed to plateau and I was left waiting for a climax that didn't really come.Read full review...
