I bought a Gainsborough shower 4½ years ago. After 18 months the pressure suddenly (and inexplicably) dropped, so it trickled very hot water. I explored all possible reasons for this, but could not solve it, so I bought one of these replacement shower engines, because it is cheaper than buying a new shower, and cheaper than calling out a plumber.
