Read it, learn it, practice it... your life might depend on it soon.
It's not just for business management anymore. Many people have suggested that the concepts presented in Sun Tzu's classic writings are useful to business and that is true. Unfortunately we are facing a time when the potential for something more ominous is looking over the horizon and it's a good idea to understand the concepts of conflict and how to best defend your family, property and liberty. I would strongly suggest you add this book to your inventory right next to canned beans, water purification tablets and 2 way radios. Some things are obvious but anyone can learn something from this book.Read full review...
I wouldn't recommend this book, there are better books out there.
Over-rated. Too many times, the author of the book doesn't make any concrete advice under a given situation.
Btw. Gen. Griffth's comment at the end included too many false conjectures. His claim that KMT should have not gone to Manchuria is total bs. That's one KMT did right, if KMT had given up Manchuria, then they might as well have given up all of China since CCP would have inherited Japanese trained troops of at least 250,000 to 500,000 plus air bases, and indurstrial bases for building a new modernized red army for operations against KMT plus immediate open border right next to Soviet Far Easter Military for even more aid.
Better get 'On War' by Klauswitz, or one by Moltke, no mumbo jumbo there.Read full review...
A masterpiece. A Philosophy of War and Life
This book is truly astonishing in it's grace.
Beautifully written. It flows like poetry.
Deception is a tool referenced many times in this Classical Text.
I'm a christian and do not like so much deception, but Deception has played a big part in winning many wars. This book is rich in cultural and historical facts of the far east. (some are embellishments).
Some War Tactics discussed include traversing difficult terrain. Knowing when to fight and when to flee. How to ambush your enemy. How to scare the enemy. How to spy on the enemy. How to turn the enemy against itself. How to hire the enemy.
Getting the enemy to surrender. Disgracing the enemy and countless other tactics of war still used today. I believe war should be a last resort especially hearing some of the brutality that went on in far east.Read full review...

Sun Tzu, The Art of War
The Art of War is an excellent book for ANY library. The philosophical concepts transcend politics, religion, life experiences and more. There are so many nuggets of Gold in this book, anyone could apply Sun Tzu's wisdom to something in their life. Do not be turned off by the War in the title. This is the second copy I have purchased. I have one and I ourchased this for my father, and he loves it as well.Read full review...
