Galfer 223mm Rotor for Front Forks...Excellent product with great stopping power

This 223mm rotor was put on RockShox Lyric Charger 2 RC2 "Boost" front forks to replace a 203mm Shimano Ice Tech rotor. I use Shimano Saint M820 brakes with finned brake pads.
In needed more front end braking as it was an ebike and the 203mm rotor though good was not enough but with the Galfer 223 rotor I have gained an extra 10-15% braking which is great and stops me quickly.
The rotor itself needs at least 20 minutes of bedding in, I use a spray bottle of water to douse rotor and caliper and keep the constant braking going with intermittent spaying of water till the rotor starts to bite consistently.

Make sure you get the right adaptor for your fork which needs to be post mounted. The Lyric Charger RC2 is a standard 180 post mount... so I got the 180-223 SB001 adaptor. All fitted perfectly and after bedding in provides huge amounts of stopping power. Ideal for an ebike.

Great stopping power. Fit could be better

Firstly, the stopping power of these is absolutely incredible so they do what I ask.
The downsides:
- Either the disc is 0.5mm too large or the adaptors are too small but on a Lyrik with Codes the disc doesn't quite go to the outer pad edge. I would file the adaptor down a little, but scared of messing it up and I can live with this.
- Pads may rub a little when new with thicker disc. Might want to sand them down little. On the plus side this makes the brakes feel super stiff as there is very little fluid in the caliper.
Overall I would definitely buy again, just be aware of these point.

Big and bold

Big rotor can handle very long descents. Not as good in heat dissipation, compared to a shimano ice rotor.

Wow

I put a pair of these 223mm discs on my Scott downhill bike and wow they perform as well as they look. I’d recommend these for any biker that trusts there brakes at the moment with 180 mm or 203mm discs upgrade to thisRead full review...
