Voice routing + Best non-trucking/Car GPS for a City or OTR Driver in my opinion

Best car or truck GPS I've ever owned.

Routing by voice has to be the best/coolest feature of this GPS. I am a local truck driver and I go to as many as 15-20 stops/pickups per day, so I need a quick way to enter the next p/u-delivery location that I can. This GPS allows me to do this without typing the address in. It has two drawbacks that I've discovered from using it for 1 day so far. (1) When you use voice to enter a highway numbered address it combines the block number with the highway number, although I did get it to work once so I probably need to read the manual (LOL, yea right dummy). (2) It recorded my max speed for the day as 77 mph, my truck is governed at 66 and I went nowhere near any hill that would get me to 77 mph + I keep an eye on my speedometer like a hawk.

Other great features I found on one day of use are: Menus are easy to navigate, tells you when there is a lower speed limit ahead and when you go over the speed limit, school zone ahead, easy to add a stop (route shaping) to current route, correct lane prompts. Display shows you current speed, street, arrival time or total miles to go. Another one of the best to me is more up-to-date maps than any other GPS I've had.

Useless voice command feature

I haven’t had it long enough to have used all its features in different driving locations and conditions so I won’t speak to those, but my one big complaint is that the voice command feature is essentially useless. It works fine until I say the address and then it becomes hard of hearing and comes back with addresses that aren’t even close to what I said. I’ve tried speaking more slowly, softly, loudly, and in a normal conversational tone but nothing works. If you can’t live without the voice command feature, this unit is not for you. Love my upgraded (and larger) Garmin

I've used a Garmin product for over 10 years and decided to add more of the "bells and whistles". I like the larger size of the unit (I'm getting older) and appreciate the verbal commands ("Turn left at the next stop light") so I can keep my eyes on the road. I'm confident it will get me Home no matter where I am. Still examining the rest of the added features. Read full review

Nice GPS

Great color on this gps. Everything I was hoping for in a gps. Battery doesn’t stay charged though. As long as it’s plugged in it works fine.it’s about the same screen size as my I phone 12 pro. I wish the screen was bigger but for what I payed for it I can’t complain.Read full review

Pleased that Hands Free and Shows Traffic

Pleased. Small but Helpful. Wanted to replace the cell phone idea. This has more features than the Nuvi, thankfully, but it is a little more simplistic than a cell phone GPS. Still happy with it. Shows traffic. Like that you can talk to it, hands free.Read full review

Small enough to not block your view, easy to use, does what it needs to do without being overly complex

I have owned three of these. One was damaged because I left it on the dash in the summer when it was 112 degrees F. I bought this one to replace it with. It is exactly what I need/want. It does everything I need it to do, without being too complicated to use easily. Unfortunately these are out of production and not available locally. I'm glad I was able to find a new one on eBay. Garmin GPS 55 Mostly Good

Manual input works just fine. However the voice input feature is not so accurate. With several attempts to voice input the address, the response was incorrect. It doesn't seem to understand the voice input. It comes back with something completely different or something similar but incorrect. The manual inputs are spot on. Read full review

Nice up-to-date product with value

This is newest product and has great feature, but probably consume your cellular data. Keep in mind that read manual thoroughly and connect your phone with the GPS.

Garmin : Good quality products .

Have only used it once . to early to tell . Just differant enough from my old Tom Tom , that i will have to figure it out / get used to it . Bought to update & replace old Tom Tom that maps were no longer updateable! Should of put a " REAL " Inst. manual in box ! No screen guard in box . Garmin a good name product . Have other Garmin products & happy with them . Also Garmin support is Very Good , they always take care of you 100 % in my dealing with them ! Hope to be using the GPS this summer & beyond & see how it performs . The price I paid was very good .Read full review
