Gifted: A wonderful heart filled drama

Gifted was a beautiful, inspiring and emotional picture based on the life of a child prodigy. It brought tears and joy both to my eyes, yet at the same time I feel the movie drifted from a story about a gifted and intelligent 7 year old child into the whole custody battle over her life and somewhere in between the movie losing its identity it confused me a bit. Was this a movie about the laughter, joy and tears of the gift this little girl was blessed with or was it about a custody battle over a child's life. Wonderful attempt but the story line drifted and lost me at times. Overall a wonderful movie and Mckenna Grace plays the part of the child prodigy flawlessly and with more heart and wisdom than I've ever seen in a child actor. so talented and so ahead of her years. Well acted, well scripted, heartwarming

This is one of those movies that my husband and I like to watch over and over again. There are some really subtle but funny lines! It also has a good storyline as well as a beautiful illustration of the differences between intellectual needs and the needs of the soul. The acting is also very good. There's a deleted scene of Frank and Evelyn at her hotel that is what we think is the best scene of the whole movie (lines, acting, etc.), so we always stop the movie where that deleted scene belongs, watch it, then return to the movie.

The hospital scene is very heartwarming as well as when Mary praises a classmate in front of her class. Frank shows kindness to and honors Evelyn at times when she doesn't really deserve it, while still remaining firm in his convictions with which she doesn't agree. Read full review

A terrific movie. Sort of nice seeing how brilliant people act. Learning procedures etc. Really strange seeing someone do differential calculus in the 3rd grade when I flunked Calc in high school.

Perfect For Everyone

I saw this movie and then immediately ordered five more copies of it. Perfect Christmas gift for just about everyone! The acting is amazing. It is funny in scenes, but serious in overall message. I don't usually like movies with kids, but wow, this gal is not your usual diva kid. In fact the plot is about how her uncle is trying very hard to give her "normal" little girl experiences when she is clearly "gifted". The actor who plays the dad evidently played "Captain America" in some movie series (sorry -- that is not my genre), so I figured my superhero-loving friends would appreciate this, also.
