GOOD MoBo, but with SOME LIMITATIONS

PLUSES:
RELIABILITY — I've had several over the last 5 years and have yet to have one fail.
DDR3 RAM — Instead of having to hunt down DDR2, you can use faster sticks that cost the same or less.<br>OVERCLOCKING — Supports BClk and Multiplier adjustment (and will even handle 1600MHz FSB CPU's), but voltage control could be better.
SIZE — mATX will fit smaller cases.
7.1 CHANNEL AUDIO — Someone else said there was no 5.1 audio on this, but I think they were referring to the on-board audio jacks; the audio header supports up to 7.1 multi-channel.
PCI SLOTS — Only two, but at least it's still got 'em.

MINUSES:
SATA II (not III) — Limits transfer speed to about 300MB/s, while current SSD's are capable of 400-500MB/s or more.
RAM CAPACITY — Only 2 RAM slots + no high-density stick capability = 8GB max.
NO USB3 — My 32GB USB3 thumb drive reads about 80-100MB/s on my main computer, and only about 40MB/s on this one.
NO RAID — Well, we can't have everything; can we?
ONLY ONE PCIe×16 + ONE PCIe×1 SLOT — Also, no SLI or CrossFire capability for dual-GPU setup.

Excellent board for an inexpensive and durable system

Excellent durable board that uses DDR3 RAM. You can get a Core 2 Quad Q8400 or similar processor for less than $20 to make a board that will run most anything except high end games very rapidly. It works best with an SSD due to slow Windows loading from an ordinary HD (not the boards fault). I have several of these boards and they are all still running after years of use. You need PC3-10600 1333 MHz DDR3 Memory (like G.Skill F3-10600CL9D-8GBNT). It will not work with other types of DDR3 RAMRead full review...

Solid board with necessary features

Needed a board to replace nforce chipset board which died. Accepted DDR3 memory and Intel Extreme Core processor without hassle. Board even upgraded to Windows 10 if interested.

Go Gigabyte, you won't regret it.

I have always have good experiences with Gigabyte, can't say that about any other brand.
We wanted to set up a decent core 2 duo processor with 4 GB RAM and running XP Pro. The motherboard worked perfect, recognized the processor immediately and setup very quickly. Love the FSB of 1333 MHz and the RAM is running the same speed.
The on-board video was pretty decent as well, although I installed a 256 MB video card to leave more RAM for a future Win 7 64x upgrade.

New Life for 775 processors

Gave new life to my 775 CPU. This board can use up to 8 gigs of memory so that I can run 64 bit win 8.1 well.
