4K Chromecast Ultra 2016

Having purchased a Toshiba Ultra 4K Television, I needed to upgrade my original Chromecast to utilise the 4K. I purchased the Chromecast Ultra 4K 2016 version, the setting up was straight forward (plug in HDMI, and power supply and follow the onscreen instructions) within a few minutes it was installed. I used 'You-tube' to try the 4K and it was amazing. The picture was so clear and the sound mind blowing! US STOCK with ADAPTOR makes for a chunky item that will not fit behind your TV

This product is a USA Product, what does that mean to you, well it arrives with a US Plug Top and an Adaptor, not a problem if you unless you are trying to place it to the rear of your TV, then it is a nightmare.

Second hitch is that it comes with no instructions, just a google card to go to a web site

Lastly it is bundled into a plastic bag when delivered, they could not even be bothered to find/buy a brown box to ship it in.

The whole Purchase just left me flat

Chrome cast Ultra v Chrome Cast

We have the Ultra and a relative has the standard version, and whilst we think they are both a good piece of equipment, we doubt whether the Ultra is worth the extra cost.
Claims of higher resolution are hard to quantify, as much will depend on TV definition - and viewer expectations.

HD ChromeCast Ultra

Great product, I already used a Chrome Cast but wanted the best quality for a projector screen and it hasn't let me down.

Good but could be better.

Overall the device works OK, just that the non UK plug makes it awkward if you have a neat wall installation as you have to used the adapter, which makes it protrude from the wall too much. If you use a normal chrome cast cable you cannot get 4K, as the device needs more than the standard USB power output. Will look into find a better adapter, which in turn will add to the overall cost.Read full review...

Quality feel. Works OK. A bit awkward to set up initially.

The product has a quality feel as you would expect from Google. Works OK with the Google Home app on my Android phone. Can be tricky to set up but works somewhat better than my Miracast device.
