Fun Read and Easy to Not Take too Seriously

I bought this book because I got sucked into the tv show. I kept seeing articles and pictures everywhere and I wanted to know what the hype was about. After watching season one I was hooked so I decided to see where it began, what can I say I am a curious soul.

First and foremost... if you have only ever seen the show and not read the books, check one out from the library first or read a few chapters at the bookstore before buying. It is a complete 180 from the show. Characters have completely different personalities, brothers or sisters that were never mentioned in the show, parents are in completly different married statuses... all in all a LOT different. Just be prepared is all I'm saying.

That being said... it was a fun read. All of the characters have some serious moral issues, but I think the writing makes it easy to see them as serious flaws that should not be practiced. If you are looking for a book to take on a bus or to the beach I'd recommend it. If your looking to write a book report, this is not the book for you.

(This books ends with the ending of episode 1 of the show... kind of... last chapter is the kiss on the lips party, but like I said... SO much is different...)

Great book(s).

I love this book series. It's highly addicting and I could seriously read two books a day. Yes, some of the content should only be read by high school kids but it also informs us how to act and how not to act. When it comes to language, I mean really we're gonna hear it all eventually anyway. We know the effects of drugs and driking and also the consequences that come with doing them (Nate does pot and gets arrested and has to go to rehab where he meets a girl that pops pills and almost DIES) this alone makes me not want to do drugs. In these books characters have sex, and they get their hearts broken. Also, it's exciting to read about these rich teens who go on these weekend get aways to St. Barts(which by the way is an excellent place to vacation). And also when it's talking about designers like Ralph Lauren, DKNY, Chanel, or Marc Jacobs it's only informing teens of fashion, 17 magazine does the exact same thing, i promise. So in conclusion these books rock, and I hope von Ziegesar keeps em coming! :)Read full review...

Gossip Girl books 1-11

I LOVE this series. Albeit, the books are different from the tv series (which I ALSO love), they're still good books. I've found this series to be engaging and draws the reader in fairly quickly. The author is quite descriptive when describing what each character is wearing or the environment in which the character is situated. As the author had grown up in the New England area and Manhattan, she can draw on her own experiences to portray a realistic setting and story.Read full review...

Gossip Girl

A really good book, it's about spoiled unrealistic characters, but the plots are believable and the author acts like a teen would in the situation. It's not the best book in the series, but it's good. Perfect for 12+.
Some subject matter.

Zeigesar has dry, witty humor, and Gossip Girl has a TV show premering Sept. 19, and it's sure to be good!

spoiled, airheaded teenagers

It's typical teen fiction- the main characters are spoiled, have no morals and there's sex left and right. But at the same time they're very interesting reads. I've gotten totally addicted to them. Just keep in mind not to take them seriously or try to act like the characters, because the world is already full of spoiled airheaded teenagers...Read full review...

Gossip GIrl Book 1

It pulls you in and once you are done you must have more GOSSIP!! Once your in there is no out. Gossip Girl Book 1 is something fun to read no matter what. And Gossip Girl her or him self is what I love about the books she or he gives out the gossip no matter who she or he hurts. If you have started watching the Gossip Girl show on the CW on Mondays at 7pm like I have you know there are only reruns on now, so I had to get the Gossip Girl books. All the books are great for the ages of 13 and up. Its a great read. YOU KNOW YOU LOVE ME!! hehehe.Read full review...
