Villiers Midget Stationary engine

I have used Granville High Temperature paint on the finned head on a Villiers Midget stationary engine i am restoring. The paint went on very well.
Time will tell if it is long lasting and stands upto the temperature when running.
Overall i am pleased with the product.

Not real high temperature paint

Applied to a patio wood burner made from an old propane cylinder. The paint was applied to the whole of the exterior surface. I was very surprised to find the bulk of the paint bubbling off. Using my infra red remote temperature sensor I found it only survived heat below about 200’c. The following morning when it had cooled most of the paint rubbed off like dust.Read full review...

Good finish to engine & matching up to existing colour.

Finish is good ,considering it's a brush on paint, haven't started engine up yet as still working on other parts , so don't know about when engine is hot, but should be ok.👍

Cylinder Black Review

This paint is absolutely ideal for blacking cylinder heads, engines and exhaust pipes, it's easy to apply and withstands high temperatures, it can also be used for painting motorbike or scooter frames or any other metal parts that need a tidy up, it covers surface rust if the worst is wire brushed off first and it's very handy to have around the house for painting drain hole covers, grates or any outdoor water pipes etc.Read full review...

Really pleased with the result.

Great paint for my classic British motorcycle engine as part of its restoration. Surprised at how little I had to use when painted on with a small brush. Dried to a nice satin finish and looks great.Read full review...

Does what it says on the tin.

I needed some heat resistant paint for the cylinder of my classic bike. I wanted the satin finish because a gloss finish would not have been in keeping with the original finish. The Granville paint is one of the very few satin paint finishes you can buy in heat resistant paint. I would suggest as the instructions say that you mix it well first before applying otherwise you may end up with a more glossy finish than desired. The coverage is excellent which is just as well as you are only supposed to apply one coat. You will be surprised how far 250ml will go as i hardly used any at all. I highly recommend this product and will certainly use it again.Read full review...

Cylinder brown

I previously used bbq spray on my exhausts but it was peeling off and oversprayed everywhere.

A good pot of paint that hardens into a very solid ceramic coating. It way tougher than the spray paint I used before.

One problem is its a sort of dark brown instead of black and doesn't fit with the matt black of my bike. I think I`ll spray some bbq on top of it to make it look right.

It's a very, very tough paint though so I would recommend it.

Durable

I always use this on my classic air cooled motorcycle cast iron cylinder barrels. The last application lasted 16 years, 15,000 miles.

Quick and easy to use

This engine black is so easy to use one coat covered the exposed alloy on the front of my engine no problem. Dries quickly but cures through engine heat to a good durable finnish. I'm well pleased with the results.Read full review...

Great paint,good value.

After years of using wood stove/bbq paint at about £8 a can, switched to this as the other paint I used seemed to have changed formula and gave less than satisfactory results. This stuff is great,I sprayed it on and was amazed how little I used to get a good finish compared to the aerosols I used to use, much better value and a better finish what's not to like.Read full review...
