Queen of the remakes

With her long-overdue induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame finally happening, Linda Ronstadt remains one of the finest female vocalists of all time. This import CD comprises her two "Greatest Hits" albums onto one single disc, featuring all 23 songs. The result is a stand-out selection of fine music from her most well-known era. She became successful at recording her own versions of previously released songs, and placing her own signature style onto these arrangements. Many of these tracks became instant classics. Her first hit song, "Different Drum" to her 1980 recording of "How Do I Make You" perfectly compliment the remainder of the disc. "Love Is A Rose", "Love Has No Pride", "I Can't Let Go", "Long, Long Time" and "Someone To Lay Down Beside Me" are fine songs. She also places her unique vocals on the songs "You're No Good", "Silver Threads And Golden Needles", "Desperado", "When Will I Be Loved", "Heat Wave", "It Doesn't Matter Anymore", "Tracks Of My Tears", "It's So Easy", "Hurt So Bad", "Blue Bayou", "Back In The U.S.A.", "Ooh Baby Baby", "Poor, Poor Pitiful Me", "Tumbling Dice" and "Just One Look". love that you can get all the greatest hits in one CD. Also has new liner notes. But if you want all the great Linda R. classics fully remastered get the Japanese Mini LP OBI versions of her 1970s albums. Well worth the extra money.Read full review...

Nice sonic upgrade to Ronstadt's great hits

I noted that this twofer set was mastered by Rhino engineers. They did a good job to bring out the best no doubt of the original tapes I was less satisfied with the sound of vol 2..which were of LR's less "great hits". Don't know if the problem was with the source material or what. Still for the vol 1 hits this set is a winner.r Read full review...

If you heard it on the radio , you'll hear it here. All killer , no filler. Superior sound to the original , individual ,separate volumes 1& 2.

Great songs by a great artist!

I grew up listening to Linda Ronstadt and always knew she had a lot of great songs, but this CD reminded me of exactly how many she had (some which I had forgotten about) and it was great to hear all of them again! All of her greatest hits! The CD brought back some happy memories.
