Good Ole Southern Rock

I grew up listening to ZZ Top. It wasn't until watching a documentary about the band on Netflx that I really came to appreciate them more. Like where the name came from and the fact that they have stayed together longer than any other band. This CD contains their greatest hits. On it you will hear the changes and transitions in their style that occurred over the years. The older songs like Tush and so on, the later years the newer style with hits such as Sharp Dressed Man and Legs.

What really made ZZ Top take off in popularity was MTV. Many younger listeners won't remember when MTV was 24 hours of non stop music videos. This is when many bands took off in popularity including ZZ Top. Songs such as She's got legs , TV Dinner, and Sharp Dressed Man were great videos and made many like me rush out and buy the new albums. I really like this Greatest Hits CD. It has all of my favorites on it and is really clean sound. It's a must for any Southern Rock fan that remembers what Rock used to sound like. I highly recommend it. Read full review...

ZZ Top Greatest Hits

I bought this for a "fan" as a present. The CD contains well-known hits like Legs and others I hadn't heard before, such as Tube Snake Boogie a fun song I also liked Rough Boy, Double Back and particularly the ZZ Top version of Viva Las Vegas. I did not care for Planet of Women, or Gun Love but Fans will like this CD and I liked MOST of the songs. The cover art should be rated PG 13 as it has a Well-endowed but barely-contained-in-her-top model. I did not feel comfortable when my YOUNG nephew spotted the CD before it was wrapped.Read full review...

This CD has most of ZZ Top's best songs and was inexpensive. The reason I bought it was to get Tube Snake Boogie and Pearlnecklace, which I did not already have in my collection. It is however missing some of their earlier hits, such as Waitin' for the bus, Francine, Just got paid, and Beer drinkers and hell raisers. You can get those songs on The best of ZZ Top, or you can spend the extra money on Rancho Texicano, Which in my opinion is very complete.Read full review...
