Excellent kit but warning, check fuse and buy better helmet before use!!!
This kit is great value given that it is is so small, but powerful.
I would never of bought a full size welder (too scary for a novice) so this small inverter type is perfect to get me into welding for the infrequent and relatively small level tasks I will use it for.
Though I haven't used al of the features within the menu options, they do look logical and provides a lot of intelligence to guide you.
I intend to enjoy learning with this kit.
WARNING! As per the title, there are 2 immediate safety issues I want to warn others about.
1. Check the fuse fitted in the 13 amp plug. Mine had a 13 amp fuse with wire soldered across the terminal so this would not have blown.
2. Order a auto darkening helmet so you have that from the outset. The flimsy mask that came with the is not up to the job. When I was testing out the welder, the dark piece of glass dropped out of the holder and I caught sight of the arc which is dangerous.
If you address these issues first then you will get on well with the welder kit.
I have used it up to 99 amp so far with a normal 13amp fuse which hasn't blown neither did the wiring get hot. I bought a relatively budget (£34.00) auto darkening helmet which goes up to ISO 13 and felt much better and safer.

Highly unlikely to be 200amp but produces basic welds ok, although none of the features beyond amp setting appear to do anything at all and Tig lift is not even a selectable option as was stated. Nice little welder
For the money it is worth buying if you don't need a lot of power - it copes with 3mm steel quite happily. (I haven't tried thin metal yet - but if I doing so would have a thick plate nearby to strike onto)
It strikes and re-strikes an arc very easily although sometimes has a tendency to stick when the weld voltage drops to normal - however once welding it gives a smooth even flow (and then it is down to one's weldng skill)
I haven't used the mask or wire brush provided - I guess you would only use these if you had a small job and didn't want to fork out on proper gear. I use an auto helmet which makes a massive difference.
The unit is also very light and portable with reasonable cable lengths.Read full review
