The product is fine in the sense that it works fine and print quality is great. For some reason, the cartridges last around 40% of the time that our equivalent (price, size, performance) Brother printer cartridges do. This is a shame and a little short sighted of HP possibly. We all realise that Multinationals have to make huge margins, but this issue will ultimately need to be addressed if HP wish to maintain their privileged position in the lucrative replacement cartridge market. Afterall, purchasing a couple of cartridges costs the same, if not more, than the cost of the actual printer now as we all know. i.e the Printer price is okay now, but cartridge price vs. performance is still an outlier metric for customers.Read full review...

Is what it is. Its a genuine HP ink cartridge in original packaging.
If you plan your usage and purchase in advance, its a far cheaper way of buying these grossly inflated prices from the retailers. This is more prevalent as a printer gets older, especially with HP. You buy a new printer and the ink starts off at a reasonable price. As the printer gets older the price escalates to twice or more the original cost. Quite a nifty bit of marketing really.
Anyway the people that provide the online purchases help to keep the price lower thus lengthening the economic life of your perfectly functioning printer.Read full review...
