HHamlet is often filmed, but this is Burton on a New York stage: absolutely stunning. King Lear/Olivier's best!

I needed these two Shakespeare tragedies performed by the finest British stage icons of the 20th Century because I lead a literary book and film discussion group at a retirement center. We took our time and used a week to work our way through both. This is a bit like the Holy Grail for people who like Shakespeare on film. The production was legendary. Burton’s last Hamlet. Directed by Sir John Gielgud. Quite lucky this has survived.
