Just painted my gates again, 10 years after the last time when I used hammerite smooth. The paint covers well and I only needed one coat.

Does what it says on the tin

A tricky one

I found the product a little difficult to apply smoothly due to quite thick, sticky texture. Also it dries incredibly fast so I did make some snags and get dragging. So not a great finish I'm afraid

Extend the life and look of rusty or new metal - use Hammerite

If you need to protect, cover or spruce up metal, particularly if it's outside, this paint does the job. Used it several times over the years and never been disappointed. If it's a negative I've always made sure everything I need to paint is done in one session and at the reasonable prices of brushes these days have not attempted to clean them just thrown it away. Covers perfectly, sticke like glue

Nothing covers exterior metalwork like Hammerite. I've used other cheaper brands in the past and it's a false economy.
