Worthwhile for the acting alone.

Very interesting characters; portraying choice of attitudes towards life; excellent acting.

Heartwarming, funny, sad, moving story.

A favourite film with "real" people who are believable and genuine. Sally Hawkins and Eddie Marsan are both superb throughout.

Happy-Go-Lucky

My wife saw the film at our local film society while I had to stay at home with our daughter. She was uplifted by the film and so we bought a DVD on eBay. Directed by Mike Leigh it derives much of its power from his methods of working and improvising with his actors. The result is charming (but not too feelgood), thought provoking and very very real. After you have watched the film you can't believe that you don't actually know the characters as real life friends/associates. You might not be too keen on the film if you are a driving instructor !Read full review...
