Works perfectly! Not as hard as silver solder, but it's easier to use and doesn't take as much heat. Strong enough for most applications. I used it for the line set for an AC unit. I think it would be great on a TXV as well - yes, I've cooked one before with silver solder and it was even wrapped in a damp towel!
