Battery disconnector, heavy duty?

This disconnector is well made in terms of its physical appearance and how it fits and works. The only downside I found is that because it is brass it was very easy to cross-thread. The fix was to thread from the opposing side and re-create the thread again. It would have been better if it was made from a harder alloy. However saying that it does its job well, and should last if threaded more carefully than I did.Read full review...

Not universal fitting.

The item is solid and well made, but there was no straightforward way of fitting it to my Mazda 2 standard battery set-up. Perhaps it should be made clearer that this product does not simply bolt on to any car.

You get what you pay for!

It may be the unit that I purchased but I can never be sure that the
battery has in fact disconnected, the insulation between the two parts of the unit allows the screw to touch and reconnect the unit. I have to use a
multimeter to ensure the battery is disconnected.
I have purchased many of these units over the years for classic cars, boats etc. and have never had this problem however I think I have purchased a higher quality item.

Functional and reasonably priced

Easy to fit, works as it should but you need to make sure you have disconnected the battery completely by switching something on in the vehicle ( radio or ignition) to double check as it takes several turns of the knob to disconnect properly.
I use it to prevent the battery draining and to make it more difficult to steal the car.Read full review...

Measure batter to bonnet height

Probably ok for some cars but not my Honda as the item when fitted to the correct battery touches the closed bonnet. And if unscrewed in immobiliser mode is compressed enough to make contact with battery.Read full review...
