Good for maths and models

I have used Helix products for many years in my hobby of scratchbuilding waterline models of HM capital ships of WWI at 1:192 (1/16th inch to 1 foot). In my obsession for fine detail and accuracy in repeat parts, the thumbwheel compass rigidly maintains the exact radius for however long I wish it to do so. Ordinary pull-apart compasses are too 'flexible' and frequently loosen, then open slightly during use, giving rise to unequal repeat radii. I also use Helix's Giant Bow Compass for larger circles. I'm impressed enough with Helix compasses that I have purchased the same ones for my grandson, for use in both school mathematics and his hobby of scratchbuilding RC cars.Read full review
