Good choice for the busy pet owner

About £4:50 more expensive expensive online than where I normally get it but its a good choice for those with a mixture of rabbits and guinea pigs, enabling a single food to be used for both.
20Kg bag makes it a bit heave for some but Ideal when buying 5 - 6 bags a month as we do.
No waste as the pellets contain everything in the way of nutrients so the fluffy critters cant pick and choose what they like and miss out on the good stuff.
Most rabbit pellets dont contain the correct vitamins required for guinea pigs, wheras this does so its an excellent choice.

We feed alongside horse quality hay and our critters are like gladiators.

Not as good as other reviewers state

I bought this brand of rabbit food based on what other reviewers had said. It was a good price for the size bag, but when I received it I noticed half the bag was made up of dust from the pellets. After a few bowlfuls I needed to start sieving the pellets, which made the room dusty. The pellets broke down and became smaller in size as a result. It also took a while for my rabbits to take to the pellets.

Overall, I wouldn't recommend this product. It hasn't been produced to a high quality and you end up getting less from the bag due to the pellets breaking down into smaller bits.

Great

I was told this feed is the best for my guinea pigs as it contains vitamin C and the pellets stop them from picking out pieces of other types of food mixes causing them not to get a balanced diet. I highly recommend Heygates. Read full review...

Excellent Value!

To give my guinea pigs Benny and Solo plenty of variety in their diet, in addition to their normal hay fruit and vegetables I always give them pellets. Whilst looking for a sack of pellets I discovered seller Purfuffle was selling 20Kg sacks of rabbit and guinea pig pellets for £13.59 with p & p included!

My sack of pellets arrived today as predicted although I don't mind a day or two over knowing how postage can go. The quality of these pellets is excellent giving my pets all the vitamins and goodness they need but Benny and Solo are enjoying them very much. I would recommend this seller for a good quality animal feed with an excellent price and very quick delivery. I would deffinately use this seller again.

Recommended for your rabbits.

Ever since our two rabbits arrived they have eaten this in the morning.
They have had the same quantity every morning following the advice of the breeder.
This was the brand that she used and we have seen no reason to change.

Love the product, not the state it came in.

The product is fab, especially for the price and my rabbit reallt enjoys the food. It also lasts a really long time and that it great. My main downside, is that when my back arrived, it had two huge splits in either side of the bag, and the pellets had fallen out everywhere in the packaging. Overall, would recommend but check bags for splits.Read full review...

Heygates Rabbit's Choice Pellets

Well it may not be the rabbits choice, but it was certainly the breeders choice, so I've always stayed with it. When my wife and daughter decided that a couple of rabbits weren't enough and we needed 3 guinea pigs as well, I was glad to have this in stock, as due to the added vitamin C, it's also suitable for them. It also has an additive to aid the rabbits digestion as they've got very fussy stomachs, and should you be considering changing to this food, please bear in mind that your rabbit needs to be weaned onto it over a period of about 10 days.
As the food is all one type, there isn't any preferential feeding (the rabbit only eating the bits they like) which you get with the mixed food; which is why one large chain of pet stores I know of doesn't stock the mixed food any longer.
The price is very good - I suspect because there's no VAT on it due to being a commercial rabbit food, but I'm just repeating what the breeder told me in this respect...
I've never had problems with it and will continue to use it, rather than the criminally expensive food available at pet shops and supermarkets, who strangely enough don't seem to stock this product.
