Hard drive works like a hard drive

I've never been emailed and prompted for a review of a piece of hardware like a hard drive before. I do shade tree work on my own laptops. I recently had a hard drive fail in an older Thinkpad T60p. They're easy to work on and very modular inside. Drive was swapped out within minutes and I was back to loading Linux Mint 18.1 on it before long.

The date on the top of the drive said 2007 - that's one year older than the drive I pulled out of the machine. Granted, I am a power user and this laptop stay on 24/7. So, perhaps the drive I just threw in came from a laptop that wasn't used as much and hasn't seen as many hours of run time.Read full review
