Tremendous CD!

All of Mike's hits are great songs and will really get you either "pumped up" ("All I Need Is A Miracle") and in
some cases very sentimental/sad like his ("The Living Years"). The second tune really touches my heart in a personal way because my dad was very ill in 1966 (he had cancer which they didn't tell me) and they wanted me to go back to start up my sophomore year at an Iowa college. My review of "Mike and the Mechanics"

This group came out in the time of my late 20's and really felt like a Godsend. I was going through big changes, including one state to another by myself and hearing them on radio gave me comfort, because I could relate to the words, the raw sincerity of these guys and even in regard to relationships of any kind: friends, family, lovers, etc. I knew that they had a special kind of wisdom I was looking for. I was looking for direction in music that I wasn't finding in people at all. So yeah, I thought these guys were (and are) cool and doesn't just trickle off or become a fickle fad like so many other profit grubbing bands and singers. This is a band in my heart! Do Not Sound Like Original Songs/Artist(s)

The reason I bought this CD is the songs I wanted ("All I Need is a Miracle" and "The Living Years") were not available on iTunes. After receiving the CD, downloading it on the computer and then uploading the songs on my iPod, I finally got a chance to hear what I'd been waiting for. Such a disappointment as they did not sound at all like what I've been hearing on the radio. The introductions were different and so were the voices. It wouldn't have been so bad but the CD was sold as by the original artist(s). Not a chance. I see why people have abandoned CDs and try to get songs for free on the Internet.Read full review...
