Fantastic budget price bike rack

I have to admit to being dubious when looking at purchasing this product, it’s so so much cheaper than even a Halfords rack but it looked good in the photos and reviews, and I even managed some extra discount. To top it off, it arrived 2 days early.

Now it does require some assembly, this took me probably 90 minutes but I’m not especially handy with a screwdriver. It is fiddly in places, so 2 people would make it easier, and a place at working height to rest it…I used a wheely bin!

My big tip, someone else has mentioned it too, before assembly, plug the lighting into your car, find out which is left and right indicator, this will save lots of work later!

It fits snugly on my tow ball, you will need a spanner to secure it, I think it’s 24mm….it’s a shame the bolt doesn’t fit a wheel nut socket, that would be ideal!

Even though it’s budget price, it still tilts to allow you to open the boot, it’s fully adjustable to different bike wheelbase and takes 3 bikes.

Great bit of kit

Read up on this before buying - good reviews so went ahead nice piece of kit and excellent value for money
A few other people have put stuff on about putting together
I will add my tuppence worth old money
Before building make sure you have the adapter that allows 13 pin to 7pin - Maypole do a good one
Offer up the two halves of the lighting set to your car to find out which is left and right.
Before joining two halves of the light set together make sure you put the wiring loom through the hole -
This maybe CS to some but I had it half built then realised and had to take it apart again.
Next put it on something like a table one guy used a wheelie bin it’s much easier to build up a height.
The holding bars are pretty useless unless you have the right size and shaped bikes so I purchased straps from eBay to help me with attaching the bikes to the vertical rack.
Hope this helps and enjoy 😊

SUPERB QUALITY AND GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY VERY SECURE ON TOWBALL

excellent quality rack quick and easy to put together and very secure on the towball in use all I would say is before you attach the lighting board to the rack take it to the car to check the lights work correctly I found that mine the left and right indicators was wired up the wrong way so if the cars left indicator was on the bike racks right indicator came on and visa versa easy fix just open the 13 pin plug and change the two wires to opposite terminals 5 mins work but far easier to do before it is attached to the rack so take note .WOULD I BUY AGAIN YES .Read full review...

A superb bike rack!

A great rack that is easy to put together and also simple and sturdy in use too. When assembling, put the fog light to the right side and reversing light to the left and the indicators are wired correctly. Those that say not I assume have the fog light to the left! 🙄
Very solid when on the vehicle. The wheel chocks adjust for different widths (lengths of bikes) which holds them firm.
Excellent value for money. A+

Excellent bike carrier.

Carries bike safe and secure. I added a few extra straps, as not all the clamps fitted my style of bike frame. It takes a while to put it together, (30 - 40 minutes.) Best done on garden table, so you can get at nuts and bolts easy. It is quite heavy, and well made. Make sure you check your lights and indicators, before you tighten it all up . Well worth its money, I got a brilliant deal on eBay. Read full review...

TOP HomCom Bike Carrier

This product punches way above its weight. It’s robust and easy to use. The tilt mechanism is a nice feature. I compared a number of top brands first before settling with this carrier. Bang for buck you can not go wrong at circa £149.00. Really recommended Read full review...

Excellent value with a very good build quality

I'm not one who writes reviews but I have to say something about this cycle rack. I've searched high and low for a suitable rack to fit the back of my campervan and I have been faced with the usual questions we all ask. Do you pay huge amounts for branded makes or very little for something that looks like it would blow away in a stiff breeze? There isn't much in the middle ground to shout about except perhaps this one. This rack represents excellent value for money with very good build quality and a very solid fitting.

Straight out of the box I was genuinely surprised at the quality of the various parts. The build instructions are pretty clear - you don't need a degree in reading hieroglyphs to figure out how it goes together but there are just a couple of things you need to know.

This is important. The light bar comes in two pieces. Firstly, purchase your 13 pin to seven pin adaptor off ebay - about four quid. Don't fit the light bar to the rack until you can connect it to your vehicle. People have complained about the indicators flashing opposite the ones on their vehicles? Some have even gone to the extent of changing wires over in the socket. THIS ISNT NECCESSARY. Connect up the light bar - still in two pieces - and switch on one indicator. This will tell you which side is which. Mark one half of the light bar then put it all together in the appropriate order - SIMPLES!

My only real gripe about an altogether excellent product is the cross bar fixing mounts. Unless you have very specific types of bike with very specific types of crossbars then these clamps are, well ....... pretty much useless. I've taken mine off and I'm using straps, its just simpler and I have two very ordinary bikes.

The bike rack drop down feature is good and works very well fully loaded so I can get in the back doors of the van though remember to hold the frame as you lower it!

The tow bar fitting itself is very sturdy and very secure. I had my doubts about this type of fitting but after having bolted it on and given it a good rattle nothing moved except my old shoulder joints !!

All in all a very good piece of kit that I have no hesitation in recommending

Great rack

This bike rack is light, strong and easy to use. The only thing I would add is that if it came with a socket to tighten up the main locking nut it would be perfect.

high quality qt affordable price.

excellent value for money, considerable cheaper then other well know makes, but just as good, only criticism would be that more brackets are required on the tail/indicator board as it only has 2 at each side so a tendency to fail due to vibration, i put another 2 on just to make sure, will take 2 electric bikes very easily which is way we bought it, can highly recommend it Read full review...

Excellent product and well priced, went for the 3 bike carrier as it was the cheapest price and will be carrying 2 electric bikes so makes sure the carrying capacity was well within limits. GREAT
