Excellent new Honeywell Steam Humidifier

Without adding humidity heating my 3,800 square foot home during the cold Virginia winters would often reduce the indoor relative humidity to the teens and cause trim and wood floors to shrink and lead to sinus problems. Previously I've used a Aprilaire panel humidifier with mixed results, and during the last few years a Honeywell Tru-Steam humidifier on our forced air heating system. The Aprilaire panel model couldn't produce adequate humidity, and the Tru-steam model was trouble prone.

This new model from Honeywell uses electrodes to directly boil the water and can process up to 22 gallons a day. It was simple to retrofit in place of the older Tru-steam model. It required that I pull a 220V line from the basement sub-panel (in order to get maximum performance) which took a couple of hours but other than that it was essentially plug and play.

It has a small footprint and so far the performance has been excellent. Granted, it has only been in use a couple of weeks at this point. Within 4 hours of turning it on it raised the relative humidity of our 3,00 square foot home with 9 foot ceilings from 17% to the set point of 40%.

Fantastic.

Good product

I was switching from other Honeywell true stream humidifier.
There are some wiring issue. When I called Customer Care they said that they cannot help me and I have to contact a professional.
I had to spend a couple of days to figure it out which wire goes where but once it was installed everything went fine.Read full review
