very cool and entertaining

As an adult I loved this film as much as my 4 year old. It works on the idea of a story being told at the beginning and then told by each of the characters one by one from their perspective - effectively changing the story slightly each time - very clever and has some great humour - although some may be over a younger childs head (most kids films are like that nowadays) there is enough for the younger kids to love it too. Highly recommended.Read full review...

Great dvd good value for the money

Brought this dvd for my grandsons who were coming to stay overnight. What a great choice they thoroughly enjoyed watching it several times over, as did my husband and myself. There is nothing to dislike about it.Read full review...

Shock horror! A non-Pixar film that is actually good!

In these days of computerised animation we have become extremely critical of storylines, animation and content of our family features. Breaking the mould back in the 90s was Pixar who are still producing amazing films. Then Speilberg and co set up Dreamworks and have released the very successful Shrek series and a surprisingly good dragon flick with How to Train your Dragon.

And then we get to Hoodwinked. It's not produced by any of the major studios, (the Weinstein Company... who?) but is really does deliver the goods. Great voice acting from ANne Hathaway and Glen Close; Hoodwinked is funnty, entertaining and pure genious - telling the real story of Little Red Riding Hood (or RED to her friends).

It's rare for me to rate a none Pixar film so highly, but this not only stands up on it's own right, it will also be watched many, many times by young and old.

Hoodwinked

Everyone knows the story of Little Red Riding Hood... or so they think. No one has ever seen their favourite fairy tale quite like this - turned upside-down, inside-out and reinvented with the latest computer animation as a comedy caper that will have the whole family in stitches. At last, we can all discover the real story behind the legend - how little Red, Granny, the Woodsman and the Wolf were all suspects in the crime that rocked the fairy tale world. You thought you knew them well, but none of these fairy tale characters are quite what they seem. How sweet and innocent is Red really? Is the Wolf as big and bad as you always imagined?

"Full-on fabulous fun for all the family" - The Sun

"Pure Genious" - Now

This will have the children laughing for hours & the adults too. Fantastic family entertainment which will last the test of time!

hoodwinked

It was a crime that rocked the fairytale world. Now Granny's woodland cottage is being turned into a crime scene as all the familiar storybook characters are called in for questioning. Shocking truths are revealed, casting doubt on everything you once held as true; does Little Red Riding Hood have a darker side? Is Granny living a secret life? Could the wolf simply be misunderstood? And what were the woodsman's real motives? Told in flashback, HOODWINKED takes the classic fairytale and turns it on its head, resulting in a wonderfully irreverent whodunit for the post-modern age. Featuring the vocal talents of Anne Hathaway, Glenn Close, Jim Belushi, Andy Dick, Chazz Palminteri, David Ogden Stiers, Xzibit, and Anthony Anderson.Read full review...
