Extremely great carpet shampooing tool
The Hoover SmartWash is very well built, designed, and thought out. It is easy to understand, utilize and opperates better than its predicessor, another Hoover.
Shampooing the carpet is a breeze. Go forward to laydown water with detergent, wait a bit, then pull back to pick it up, exactly like the commercial. I like that it has the option to turn off the shampooing and utilize the vacuum only to pick up any left over water/detergent it may have missed.
Putting the water and detergent in is extremely easy, as is emptying the dirty water chamber when you're finished. There are no levers to flip to lock everything in place like SteamVac SpinScrub it replaced, and I don't have to have the main shaft laying on the ground to change or empty the water chambers.
I really wish I could have purchased this in 2014.

I couldn't find the one that came with the carpet cleaner. Could not do any carpet cleaning without it. Hoover does not make it any more and is having someone else make. eBay made it right. eBay was the only place I could find one!

I owned a very cumbersome and expensive rug cleaner over the years, but I ended up giving it to my nephew. I am totally impressed with the ease of use of the Smartwash and how the components come apart so easily for cleaning. I had vacuumed extensively before using the Smartwash, but I was shocked with the amount of “gook” that was retrieved.
