I bought this dvd for my 11 year old Son, he loves the tv show on CBBC so I got his own copy.It is based on the best-selling books for kids (and for adults, but they just won't admit it), HOBBILE HISTORIES is an energetic, surprising and unconventional take on history’s most gruesome, unpleasant yet funniest moments. a MUST for every Family

We Purchased this DVD as we LOVED the BBC Series SO much. If only History was taught like this in school when I was a child. I've learned more from this great series than I ever did from School History lessons. It is "Horrible" as stated in the title but hey thats what kids love, right? Great Acting and singing performances by all the cast(some of which you'll recognize from shows such as Armstrong & Miller)Absolutely Hilarious. A few appearances from Steve Punt(Punt & Dennis)who is also one of the writers. The whole series is a great transfer from the already funny and brilliant books by Terry Deary.
My 4 and 7 year old nephews love it, my 11 year old daughter and her school friends love it. My Parents in their 60's love it. Just can't fault this superb series and cannot wait for Series 2 to become available on DVD.Read full review...

Excellent for budding historians.

Really enjoy Horrible Histories, I did A level history and my 5 year old told me some great facts from the DVD that were really accurate. Fantastic way to learn. "stupid deaths ......." makes me giggle every time. Something for all ages.Read full review...
