Life in the chandeliers of fame/
Interesting film with very good acting which reflects the intrigues and tension within the world of politicians. However, one should not think this is the way one should live. It is full of treason and false friends.Read full review...

Good Solid Entertainment
An entertaining box set. Allow many hours to view this set - just what’s needed during a Lockdown.
Great tv box set
Cracking series, but maybe overtaken by recent even more extraordinary events!
Disappointing
A lot of American mumbling - didn't find voices very clear. Didn't see much of the film.

highly recommended; fascinating in it's difference from the uk orignal.
it was some time before we bought5 the US follow on from the Uk @house of cards.
our eventual purchase was because kevin spacek was the lead in the US version.we have now watched all of the episodes of the first series.
as brits, the US screenplay is totally different from the uk's original of that title.
there was a subtle, ironic nature to the whole of the british version, which we found lacking in the US edition
perhaps because we are less familiar with the nuances of the American lifestyle.
in sum total, 'house of cards' with kevin spacek allowed us a brief insight into the 'American Way' of politics.(sic)
excellent viewing and well worth the buying.
whether that was down to enjoying kevin's role is another question.
highly recommended.Read full review...
Intelligent viewing from an intelligent cast.
As is to be expected, Kevin Spacey is very good as the conniving Francis and his wife is as cold as ice. Excellent supporting cast in this clever political thriller. Must say though, it doesn't beat the original television production starring the inimitable Ian Richardson, but nonetheless it makes good viewing.Read full review...
Gripping drama
Although taken from the British story, it is different enough to keep you guessing.
