Fine Filter

For my visualizations, the #25 Red is optimal; the popular #23 is not distinct enough from the beloved Orange #21 I prefer for cityscapes, and the #29 can make pan film start to look like IR, IMHO.>
Hoya makes perfectly fine filters, as does Tiffen, and the extra cost of European glass is hard to justify otherwise. The only serious difference I observe is the Asian filter is assembled with an inner retaining ring, where the European filters appear to be all one piece. Being a rank amateur, this is no issue to me at all. A professional on the road for National Geographic might have a different POV, and I wouldn’t argue. Each user will have differing priorities, yes? Buy Hoya with confidence.Read full review
