Well made, a bit fiddly to put together, but it does the job well.
A good design gets around the problem of providing a water connection to a rotating drum. The hose can be run out or wound in even while the water is running. Turns freely and appears durable.

Very Useful Piece of Garden Equipment
This was a replacement for an earlier purchase of the same item so I knew what to expect. Assembly calls for patience and nimble fingers, an extra hand would be useful!. The effort is well worth it and this is a very sound and effective piece of kit. At the end of the season it can be easily removed from the wall and stored for the next year. Hose drum is great quality, the fixings are totally naff and not fit for purpose
the hose drum is great, good quality and robust.
however the fixings supplied are totally crapola, not fit for purpose. we have a Victorian stone built 1880s house and the fixings supplied do not hold the drum on the 22" thick stone wall.
We have now refitted this unit 3 times and are using screws twice as long, with the weight of the water in the hose it is pulled off the wall within a weekRead full review...

this is a fab product but the handle pulls off very easily and if youre trying to wind up a completely unravelled hose, it tends to pull the whole thing off the wall but if you pull on the hose whilst winding it up it works fine....
Overall I'm pleased that I can wind it up off the ground every evening so my elderly parents don't fall off but you do need the knack to do so without it falling offRead full review...

Easy to install, neat and tidy, a "reel" pleasure to use.
I had a 30m length of hose, just lying around the garden so decided to tidy it up with this hose reel. It worked a treat, easy to install (when I found the instructions on the underside of the box flap), doesn't feel like it will break anytime soon, solid material. Simple DIY skills to install, although a decent hammer drill and two hard-tipped masonry drill bits are essential, one as a pilot and then the bigger one for the wall plug.
