Very nice Sound out of the 2 10 inch speakers, 2 tweeter or midrange speakers, ok. This thing CRANKS OUT THE JAMS, i had it 1/2 way turned up and it sounds realy good. Will be pairing it with a FiiO_X1 High Resolution Lossless Music Player (2nd Generation) 5,800 song compacity. I was looking for a boom box but glad I found this. Now I can sell my home stereo and 200 disc player. And 4 15 inch speakers. The bass on the ion is very good played w 80's rock off pandora, bumped into this by accident must be still new they don't advertise this ion 500 in many places, but for a boom box at 33 pounds, it realy has a impressive sound 5/23/17 BUY IT!!!! bought mine at bj,s warehouse, comes w 90 day warranty, I bought the extended 3 year warranty $27.99Read full review

To much bass
Hey ion why didn't you put a EQ in this it would improve it 50%
Or even a midrange driver.
Android sounds better than iPad Pro on it,radio is to muffled.
Not at loud at stated.
If I keep it I might put different speakers in it,maybe full range for loudness and better mids.
This would be good for out door application only.
I guess for right now I can change the eq setting on my phone.
I'm a fan of ion just thought this would be better,I have their other Bluetooth rockers and they sound good.

BIG BOOMSHACKALACKER + UPGRADES
BASS BEAST - I purchased this and swapped out the two subs and tweeters with 2 Skar Audio Subs & Tweeters. Subs: EV-10 S4 10" Single 4-Ohm 400W) - Tweeters: Skar Audio TWS-01 240W Pair. The total max wattage output is 500W on the original and now 1040W for the upgrade. Battery lasts me about 5 hours medium blasting, 2 hours max blasting! The original sound was pretty hard but could still overload after 70% Source/80% Speaker Volume, the upgrade can handle max LIKE A BOSS. I originally used an Ion Block Rocker and this has beyond blown it away. The new tweeters also help the clarity tremendously, the original Ion twitters have more hiss (especially with no music playing, it was pretty noticeable) and get static overload.
Update: It's safe to upgrade the battery capacity (Ah - Amp Hours) but make sure the Voltage is still 12V. I went from 12V7Ah to 12V18Ah without a problem - the battery now lasts 3x as long!! The original battery inside uses F2 Terminals for positive and negative connectors, get this type so you don't have to adapt the connectors.Read full review

Great sound thumping bass
This is the best portable Bluetooth speaker do not buy Sony notcworth the price and not enough bass. This ion road warrior is something special. It has all the features you will ever need to maximize your sound and thumping bass. I put this in my car and it shakes all the window and even the review mirror on the side doors like crazy. Bass you feel in your hair. You want bass then this is the unit for you. You want excellent sound quality this is not for you. The loudest Bluetooth Speaker out now
I used this speaker to DJ a mid range 50-100 person wedding shower and I didnt even have to push it to full volume. I used it in my Jeep Wrangler with the top down. I used it for cookouts in my backyard. This thing has not disaapointed. It feels very sturdy and well made. This is going to be on eof those pieces of equipment you dont wanna miss out on. Loud with great sound!
For its pricetag it is definately worth it. I was expecting it to be thumping more because of its size and so but it did improve after I've been playing it for a few days and I got it to thump a little bit more playing around with an equilazer on my phone. Sound is great, clear highs and good lows.. and LOUD, don't think I'm ever gonna need to max it out. Battery for me lasts like 3-5 hours depending on lights and volume. I paid a bit more for taxes and delivery to my country but am happy and feel it to be worth it, note that an transformator is needed to charge it through ac if you're in Europe, I'll charge it through dc until I get my hands on a good transformator. :)Read full review

Worth the money!!
I have owned pretty much all of IONs portable speakers and I can honestly say that this one blew my mind! It was so good that I had to write a review. Overall quality of the speaker is a 10 and sound quality is way better than any of the block or job rockers. You do hit a LITTLE distortion at MAX volume on both phone and speaker but trust me.... Unless your trying to get a noise complaint filed against you it would be safe to say that 75% volume is way more than enough to cover a city block. Good lows and mids and if your phone has an equalizer you can tweak it to your liking. Im a bass head and the 2 10 inch woofers deliver big sound for a compact speaker. Battery life is exceptional for a speaker of this size. At 75% volume Ive been able to run the road warrior for 10 and a half hours with no lights and still had 1 bar remaining. Its got some weight to it (31 LBS) so I wouldn't advise trying to carry it everywhere you go. But definitely a steal. Im about to buy another one when I get back from my vacation just because I want a spare!! Awesome Job on this one ION!!Read full review

I did pull the speaker's out of the box they are rated at 80 watts and they say they are 4 ohm but when I test them with my volt meter they are actually 7.5 ohm! Crossovers say 8 ohm on them as well...But it does sound good..I have a nyne Rock Xtreme and a monster blaster and this speaker sounds way better than both of my other ones..I got this speaker for 200 and for that price I feel it is worth it..I will be upgrading the battery and speakers soon...12 volt 5 amp battery and true 4 ohm speakers with 4 ohm crossovers...I believe that will make a huge difference!Read full review
