Ion Film 2 SD Mad Slide & Negative Scanner

Easy set up, easy to use, and easy transferring to computer. Resolution is great. Picture enhancement software is not the greatest. Windows photo editor is better.

Had the necessary technology

Overall a good unit, configurable, compact, inexpensive, and acceptable quality. If there was one negative on the unit it was the fact that the slides jammed inside the unit more often than it should have. Some of the batches I processed jammed constantly and was at wits end trying to get through it. Some batches not as bad and occasionally a batch did not jam at all. My opinion is no 2 slides are made alike and I realized this very early on. If there was one thing Ion could have done it would be to have made the reservoir where the slides resided a little bit oversized to alleviate the potential for jamming. Even tried sanding the slide edges on a couple batches and this helped but is not something one should have to do to get through a project. The slide reservoir should be configurable on the unit which in my opinion is more rational. Other than the jamming of slides the unit was OK.Read full review

Easy to use.

Satisfactory. Much better than the old ION scanner. I wish the film holder slot can be adjusted for the different size of slides or little larger for the large slide then all slides can fit to this. Maybe next the new one will be better.Read full review
