creamy smooth... I love this. It is not overkill distortion so if you're a metal head that wants a real dirty sound this pedal may disappoint, but if you want a mellow overdriven tube tone this is it. It can add tone to any amp and mixes very well with other overdrive/distortion pedals. The thing is not over or under done, it just is one of the best pedals of this type ever created IMHO. Nothing like a TubeScreamer

Run it on the front end and you have gold. Not as transparent as the Maxon, this adds just a little darkness to the overall tone. Yes, there is a noticeable difference between the Handwired and the regular. I sold my Maxon and my regular tube screamer after getting this.Read full review...

I bitterly regret having bought this pedal, I expected a lot from him, and finally bought the ts 9 keeley mod, the keeley has more sustain, more gain and is much cleaner than 808HW ts, ts pedal 808HW is very middle I do not like it one bit that pedal and the value of it I expected more, I expected it would be the best tube screammer already invented. but it is not.Read full review...

I'm really happy with my Tube Screamer TS808HW. The finish and sound are wonderful and fantastic. TS808HW is the best overdrive pedal I've ever had.

Well Made

I have a Mesa Roadster amp and this is the only pedal I have found so far that improves the sound of the amp when playing lead guitar. Gives the sound a bit of compression and adds sustain.
