My Favorite Film

This is my favorite B&W film, if not my favorite film period. Versatile, bumpable, forgiving, budget friendly, and really captures the essence of your vision. If you are new to film photography, try running a few rolls of this through your camera at box speed. You will be pleased.

If you are starting out on developing your own, this film, some D-76, stop bath, and fixer, daylight tank, and a dark place to load your daylight tank and next thing you know it's the easiest thing you've ever done. HP5 is such a pleasure to develop. So forgiving.

Great Film, But Can Be Tricky Finding a Place to Get it Processed

Great film, but processing is a bit tricky in that you have fond a lab that will process it. The XP2 Super might be a better purchase since it uses the C41 processing that most color films use...even thought he XP2 Super is a B/W film.

I gave it four stars ONLY because I have to find a lab to process it...once I do that, all should are good.

ILFORD HP5+

Great b&w film with enormous exposure latitude and contrast control. Great to use in contrast rich scenes and still have shadow detail.

Excellent film and very fresh

Ilford HP-5 Plus is one of the best ISO 400 films in the world, with excellent sharpness and tonal gradation and moderate grain. The film shipped has a June 2021 expiration date so it’s fresh. Very happy with my purchase.Read full review...

120 Ilford film

Ilford HP5 is one of the best black and white films on the market in any size. Highly recommended for those who want to shoot at smaller f/stops without compromising speed and film grain quality.
