Happy with my purchase
I had 3 magnavox tv converters, but finally got fed up with the remote control on
all 3 stopped working. So I tried this Insignia. Been 2 weeks, and so far the
remote works well, it is easy to set up, and I would say that the image is actually
a bit sharper with this unit than the magnavox products. The one drawback is
that it doesn't seem to be as sensitive; I can't get certain channels that I used to
get easily with the magnavoxes. But the unit operates well and what I do get is

Had exact same one since they were required for OTA digital broadcasting came to be. After all these years it finally gave out. Has very nice window looking interface. One feature I really like is it allows me to see current show plus the next show coming up on each channel. I got a 32" flat Samsung flat screen that does not have the feature to show me the next show. What's with that? I also have a 19" approx $150 flat screen that also shows next show coming up. Why can't a more expensive 32" do that? The remote on this converter box is well laid out and it turns the analog TV set on/off. If you need a converter box, this is the one to get.Read full review

Reliable DTA converter
Many other brands of DTA converters die within several months, these seem to last forever.
It is working well for basic TV reception (with an antenna) in the spare bedroom and we avoid

Insignia DTV converter NS-DXA1
The number of NS-DXA1 DTV converters that I have used over the years since digital TV started have served me well. They do stop working and I have not yet discovered how to fix them.
