Older than the i5s and i3s, but performs very similarly, if not better

The Core 2 Quad might be older than the newer i5 processors, however I have found it to perform similarly. Don't be off-put by the slightly low 2.33GHz clock speed of the Q8200S - it's more that capable of playing the latest games. The low TDP of the Q8200S - 65W - makes it great for using in ITX systems (that's what mine is currently installed in). The lower TDP also means that it'll not get as hot as a normal Q8200S during use - good if you want to have a quiet system where the fans aren't constantly picking up speed.Read full review...

Great recommended CPU for all uses!

The Intel Core 2 Quad processor gave my computr a great boost from my old CPU. I have tried many of the latest games on the CPU and they run perfectly with no strain on the CPU itself. The CPU stayed relatively cool compared to older CPU's in the Socket 775 list. I currently dont dislike anything about the CPU as its currently perfect. The CPU gives the Windows Experience Rating of 7.1 which is amazing compared to the older 775 cpu and shows it can be quite similar to the newer Sandybridge range of CPUs. Overall, i would recommend this CPU for all uses such as gaming, family use or just office work.Read full review...

Not the best but worth a look

This processor is not the best of its like. Overclocking not its strong point, but it does work well. If you are building a budget gaming machine to play the latest games its well worth a look. Save yourself the 20 to 30 quid of buying a slightly faster chip and put that towards more Ram or Graphic card instead. Plays Black Ops smoothly which is no mean feat from an older chip.Read full review...

Still a usefull CPU.

Although a few steps off the top of the range Core 2 Quad CPU's, This item which I bought has performed quite well.

It was purchased by me for an elderly Royal British Legion Welfare client who could not afford to buy a computer on his small pension. As I have quite a lot of older computer parts which have been donated free of charge for use by my branch of the RBL, I managed to built him a suitable computer for him to learn on (under my instruction).

So I'm always searching for more older motherboards and cpu's.
