Excellent Gaming CPU
When building a gaming PC for the best possible price I found myself researching CPU's a lot! For me the decision to go intel was a no brainer as I have had AMD before and not been impressed. I was looking at latest generation i5 CPU's and being put right off by the high price. I then sat back and assessed my needs. I want to game, I want to game at 1080p 60fps, I want nice details! After researching with these requirements I was willing to sacrifice a few fps for price and generation. I chose the i5 because I wanted 4 cores. I chose the 2500k because I can overclock it if I want to. I also chose the i5 2500k because it was £70. Now, coupled with 8gb ram and a GTX 970 I have a stonking gaming PC that will out perform any console and gives me full HD gaming at 60FPS and above. GTA V will run on very high settings between 65 and 87 FPS. Not bad for a £400 gaming rig! (That's motherboard, ram, cpu, gpu, psu and case!)Read full review...

Good for the price
The i5 2500k performs very well, I don’t really know much about changing cpu’s, it’s the first time I’ve done it but it was super easy.
I previously had an intel pentium G630.
If I’m honest there isn’t a huge difference that I have noticed but on paper it is approx a 20% improvement. If I timed it I might have seen a difference between the two.
However it was a bit of an experiment to see how easy would be to change.
So all in all very happy.Read full review...

As new
I was surprised to get this old processor in such a good working condition. It has been well looked after during its life and has been running cool . Very happy with it as it has boosted my old pc to a new high, with 8Mb of ram.Read full review...

Still a good gaming Pc
Just installed the 2500k into a Dell Optiplex £42 first dual core along with a GT1030 gpu and 8gb of ram, total 12GB. Now have a very nice little pc to game 1080 for under £180

Intel i5-2500K
Even though this is an older 2nd gen processor, this quad core CPU still handles modern software with ease. A very handy upgrade for older dual core computer
