An overall improvement
Ivys quality has improved overall compare to its predecessor i7 2600K.
Pros: 1. 77W power friendly vs Sandy Bridge 95W.
2. Great OC potential on default voltage. Reached OC Sandy Bridge frequency on default voltage.
Cons: Temperature issue. Ivy is known for having a tendency to go hotter than Sandy Bridge, almost 5°C hotter on the same frequency.
Often the temperature issue is overexagerated, if you have noctura air cooling system or a sophisticated liquid cooling tower, considering you don't have to boost the voltage to match the Sandy Bridge performance, Ivy Bridge is worth an UG.Read full review...
