A must for Kodi

So I decided to use an old Dell Optiplex 755 as an online entertainment computer. I loaded Kodi in order to watch movies and listen to music. I had a Core 2 Duo 3 ghz processor and thought it would work but the movies would end up buffering a lot. I discovered that the Core 2 Duo processor was being over tasked when Kodi was running, pushing it over 90%. I found the Core 2 Quad Q9650 on Ebay and bought immediately. It arrived early and looked practically brand new. It only took 10 minutes and a dab of thermal paste to get my computer up and running again. Now when I run Kodi, the processor shows only a 40% tasking. Better yet, my Windows Experience Index went from a 6.8 to a 7.3. As old as this processor is, it is still relevant in todays computers.Read full review

Pretty good for older PCs.

Well I bought this to upgrade my old PC which I only use for music, movies and web browsing. This CPU is getting too hot even with Noctua NH-U9B. While on idle the temps are around 45 degrees which I think is too much. Go with AMD instead =)!Read full review

Best CPU for Optiplex 755

I replaced the Intel Core 2 Duo 2.6GHz from an old desktop Dell Optiplex 755 that I picked up from a pile destined for the garbage bin. Now it's running great (along with a DDR2 ram upgrade and graphics card) and able to play recent games with decent performance as well as playing HD multimedia files and encoding. Highly recommended CPU for those older desktops.Read full review

Great upgrade for a machine that otherwise would have been thrown out

While it took a while to get here (from China to the States) the processor works 100% correctly and as advertised. Upgraded a gaming machine from 10 years ago from something that could barely play Minecraft (Maxing CPU threads) to something that plays it smoothly (typically 80% in the CPU monitor). Would recommend to anyone that has a machine that otherwise feels "too old" to do anything with, but otherwise works perfectly.Read full review

Old but reliable...

One of Intel's greatest CPU's 4cores with great OC capabilities. But is old almost 10 year's now and i buy it only to upgrade my old LGA 775 PC and give them some more years of live. Amazingly enough is working great with windows 8gb of RAM and an a SSD. Also you can play some of the latest 2017 games in medium settings 1080p with a decent GPU(gtx 1050 2gb in my case)...Read full review

Installs easy, maxes out my T3400 Dell Workstation

It's very easy to install. There are no pins to worry about bending. Use a good quality thermal paste and a good heat sink and fan. It was the highest CPU that I could put in the Dell Precision T3400 workstation that I got from work. No heat issues and it cranks out stuff good for it's generation.Read full review

Actually a noticeable upgrade to the E8600 3ghz Core 2 Duo.

I never really thought of upgrading my cpu to this quad core until recently and did so only out of curiosity, since prices had gone done quite a bit. Once I replaced my E8600 3.33ghz chip to this Q9650 3ghz cpu, I immediately noticed a boost in system performance, due to the 4 cores and 12mb L2 cache. Not only that, on air, this thing runs very cool, staying at around 28c,29c and 40 on full load. My previous chip would sit around at 35c and 59c on full load. Paired with 8gb of ram, gtx960 4gb and ssd boot up/software drive, it's prolonged my old LGA775 Asus Rampage Formula system for a few more years. Now to see how this thing does when overclocked... Good stuff.Read full review

Quad is Awesome

I received the item fast, it was very easy to install, and it works great. So great that many of my computer issues I was having are now gone. I can now enjoy using my computer without the constant concern of how the CPU is doing or whether or not it can handle the job.

Kudos!

SHIPPED FAST, WORKED GREAT

I was able to upgrade my wife's slow 2 core 2.1Ghz processor with this 4 core one, worked great. I was sure to swap out the radiator with a copper clad one, as this one makes a bunch of new heat, and use good thermal paste. (if you take a shortcut here, you'll just burn it up in your machine--keep it cool).

Thanks for the great product, fast turn around time.

Processor Upgrade

Great upgrade to my Gateway FX4710. I have the very rare Gateway published bios to make this work that you can no longer find at Gateway so the M/B correctly identifies this processer and it runs at full capacity at 3Ghz X4 cores.

The seller CAREFULLY packaged and shipped this processer quickly and I have a sweet running machine for what I need.

Great resource for finding good quality used parts.

Thanks

New life for an old PC

The processor performs well and has no issues. It looked very good but not quite new. Could just be me though. Overall a great deal to breath new life into an old computer. Thanks.
