Concise and accurate.

Compelling subject; excellent author. Even though this happened years ago, I only remembered the highlights. Wanted to know the "real story". And Jon Krakauer is the best.

The reviews are justified. Great book.

Excellent book. Very detailed. It's quite evident Jon Krakauer went to great lengths to understand as well as he could what had happened to Christopher McCandless.

Into the Wild

Into the Wild is an apt title. Why? Would be another apt title. The author looks beyond the simple geographic venture aspect to the motives and reasons within. Excellent analysis

Some writing but it just makes it funnier

Like the title says, this book is in pretty good condition, but it was obviously annotated by a student for an English class. Some of the comments are hilarious. Anyway, the rest of it is clean and not folded or anything. And I love the book itself- the reason I bought it was because I've checked it out of the library like ten times. It's so inspirational, right? See you in Alaska besties, xoxoxoxRead full review

Into The Wild

A story that grabs you and doesn't let go. This young man was so courageous that he puts all of us to shame, but he was also reckless and didn't do enough research for the arduous trip he took, leading to his downfall. I believe he had a death wish. So, a sad ending, but still an amazing and worthwhile story. Read full review

A superb book!

It's a great book, and I even taught it years ago at Kinkaid School.

Short but very intense

The first half jumps around a little but the second half of the book was very good. He spoke at great depth with the family and I felt he really got to know Chris. Even if you watched the movie, you need to read this book; there are many details that are only covered in the book.Read full review

Times have changed.

You just can't disappear these days, hitchhike, or be anonymous. I like the thought of that occasionally and the book was a good read, tough emotionally, but highly recommended.
