Islander MT-4 Traditional Tenor Ukulele with Mahogany Top

Doesn't sound as good as I had hoped.

I was a little disappointed with this tenor ukulele, being an Islander instrument I was expecting a better sound from it. I found it does not resonate as well as my concert, which is a Vtab, nor is it as loud or have such a nice tone. It is also very very light, it weighs considerably less than my smaller concert ukulele.
I must say tho that it is very nicely/neatly made. I will probably try some different string on it and see if I like the way it sounds better. I do however like the extra width on the fret board, which is why I bought it, to see if it was easier to play, my fingers have become a bit arthritic and stiff as I'm a bit of an old dear now, and in some respects it is easier and then other times, with the big stretches (E's B's ) or bar chords it can be more difficult; think overall it is easier.
It came with a nice padded bag, which I think is probably a better fit for a concert or soprano uke, as I can only just squeeze this tenor in it. Read full review
