What can I say about Dick Stawbridge.Well being ex Army myself you need to be organised for this sort of life change.It would be easy to put off until later, but Dick shows how it should be done in his own quirky way. Being an ex engineer he has the right back ground for all the different projects like solar and the Water wheel etc.After reading his section on solar energy I installed my first panel for battery charging for running Computer fans to keep my poly tunnel cool in the heat & my grape vine looks all the better for it.So if you must buy a book on self sufficency 1) John Seymor complete self sufficency 2) It's not Easy being Green.1) for the instructions on how to do things and 2) for the get up and go to do it that Dick gives in this book.Very enjoyable reading.Read full review...

Easy to follow green book

This is a very good book for the average man in the street. It gives practical advice about becoming more green in a light hearted style. Unlike some green books it does not preach to you about being green but explains each part giving you the choice of following the advice or not.Read full review...

Inspring read of an idealic lifestyle.

Full of good idea's, very interesting read, and inspirational. Explained planting and plot rotation,how to make things more efficient, various small inventions- especially liked the renewable energy greenhouse heater. Gave a real feel of living simplier, gives a more satisfying lifestyle, and that even small life changes can make a differnce. Very thought provoking, and something to aim for.Read full review...
