Great product, easy to use, sounds great, and a super price,
It’s perfect for me. I own / run a small music shop that sells mostly vinyl LPs, CDs, and 45s. I like to let my customer’s know about artists or songs that they don’t know about, such as The Shadows and their first huge hit “Apache”. Most people have never heard of the group or the song. Playing the music on my phone is not the best option, and with this new JBL remote speaker, my problem is now solved and my customer’s love it. Very good choice with a few draw backs
The only reason i didn't give the Charge Essential a 5 star rating was the sound quality. I feel that it doesn't have the sound quality of my flip 5. That thing still amazes me... But, i am still happy with this item. I think the slightly lower sound quality in the higher frequency end is offset by the added capability of this speaker with its ability to recharge your phone. The sound is still very good, frankly if i didn't have the flip 5 i would have called the sound from this exceptional! If you are thinking of this speaker don't think it will sound terrible, very good bass! My only other nitpick is the micro USB charge plug you will need to recharge. I prefer the tougher, quicker USB "C" that my flip 5 uses.Again STILL a very good choice, and cheaper than a Charge 4.Read full review

Stand alone bluetooth speaker
So, you probably know this speaker cannot pair with any other speaker. As long as you're okay with that, from what I understand this is a renamed charge 3 that was sold in certain big box retail stores. You can find specifications and videos online of the charge 3, and to a lesser extent- the charge essential. I find it a big step up from my CS angle speaker, though to be fair the oontz was only half the wattage of this charge essential. I use it to listen to music as well as internet talk radio and I love the sound quality. It would have been nice if this package included the ac wall adapter, but it only includes the cable. I know the Samsung S8 and Note 9 wall adapters match perfectly, but they are long compared to the JBL adapter and wouldn't fit in my speaker case. I picked up a used JBL in orange that matches the cable pretty closely. I only paid about $11 for the case, and it's nice and fits the speaker and the AC adapter and cable.Read full review
